Teaching

'I believe in making my lessons fun, engaging while working on establishing a strong technical foundation. Teaching my pupils to make a beautiful sound on the cello and playing in tune is paramount for me.'

I am a highly motivated music educator, with more than 15 years of experience. I believe in nurturing and developing students’ playing skills through a careful pedagogical approach, tailored to their musical and technical needs and regardless of their age and ability. Enthusiastic, encouraging and positive, weather you  want to refresh your technique, learn new pieces, tackle tricky passages from the solo and orchestral repertoire or talk about career matters, I will be more than happy to help if I can!   • Pupil Edith B. obtained her grade 2 with Distinction with a mark of 144.

  • Pupil Scarlet O'B. obtained her Grade 7 with Distinction with a mark of 133.

  • Pupil Betsy C. won the First Prize for the Instrumental Category at Rotary Club Competition (District Finals)

  • Pupil Kiran J. obtained his Grade 6 ABRSM with Distinction with a mark of 131.

  • Pupil Evie J. obtained her Grade 8 ABRSM with Distinction, with a mark of 130.

  • Pupil Betsy C. obtained 145/150 in her Grade 8 ABRSM exam. A very rare and outstanding achievement!

  • Pupil Betsy C. was awarded the Berry Cello by the Cherubim Music Trust

  • Pupil Tabby C. got 100% in her chamber music GCSE Performance recording assessment.

  • Kiran J. gained an A in his GCSE solo recording assessment.

  • Pupil Scarlet O'B. won second prize at the Taunton Music Festival for the arts in the 13th and under category.

  • Pupil Betsy C. won 2nd Prize at the Taunton Young Musician of the Year Competition.

  • Pupil Betsy C. has been awarded the Nesta Franklyn M.B.E - 16 and under cup at the Taunton Festival of the Arts.

  • Betsy C. won the Cavey cup for Grade 7-8 at the Taunton Festival of the Arts.

  • Betsy C. has been invited to perform at the Taunton Festival of the Arts Gala Concert on the 11th of June 2023 for winning the overall award for best musical performance across the entire two-week festival.
